in a rather contemplative mood today again. had a weird dream last night, one of those where u wish will never end and continue in state of happiness. :)

haha~~

but maybe it's because i was listening to ying(1) yue(4) ri (4) ji(4) before i slept yesternight. and the funny thing is tt they're replaying it right now as i'm typing this out.

i was contemplating over a comment tt some friend told me, "time is what u make of it." so how true is tt? sounds right alright. but does everything tt sound right actually apply rightly to our lives? isn't it the same thing about fidelity all other morals?

has it occured to u tt it may actually not necessarily be the 'right' thing to do, but rather just a concept tt pple of the past thought out and introduced?

we're just longing for social acceptance and approval. because if u do this and this and this, pple will find u to be a pleasant person and u're thus 'approved' in the eyes of pple.

haha, don't know if anyone understands what i'm blabbering about here...

and maybe we'll never find out if it is actually just a race for approval ratings on our foreheads or something more, something like an inert characteristic within us which actually knows what is right and what is wrong. (which again brings back to the question of the origin of this moral law)

yes. something more tt tells us what's right and what's wrong.

yes, a conscience. tt's what it is.

so interesting to have such a 'thing' within us. where does it come from? it certainly isn't something physical tt we can see. and perhaps it's just an effect derived from a mixture of biochemicals secreted by this organ and tt.

well, maybe~~

so, do we see them in animals too? seems quite amazing, cause i think we DO see this in some animals, like the classic example of the crow which returns to feed it's aging parents (courtesy of p sch teachers who so pounded it into our heads); but also look at pigs tt devour their young; or many other species tt may exhibit traits and actions tt seem to be 'moral' or 'immoral' to us.

what is the instinct within them tt drives them to do what they do? is it just nothing more than a pre-set standard tt they follow? how about us? who sets these standards then? if a person was raised in total isolation with no one to influence the way he thinks or feels, would these standards still apply to him?

"for I will write My laws on their hearts and Minds" -- Jer 31:33". maybe tt's why.
